With the exception of a meeting with my accountant at 5pm, I was not leaving the house today. There was too much to do, starting with laundry, and that recued pain au chocolat for breakfast, It was nice, I’m not a massive fan of them, but my cat liked it and had a bit too! Lunch was the remaining portion of that Thai kinda-curry which was still delicious. My afternoon was pure admin and assembling the lasagne for dinner with the ingredients from the freezer. Joyfully, what I though was just a plain bolognaise actually turned out to be a beef, red pepper and chorizo pasta sauce that I’d made a month ago, I remembered it was awesome. The gluten free cheese sauce, which I’d made too much of at the time was ready to go, and I added the last of some herby cream cheese that was also in the fridge. I was seeing a friend briefly after the meeting, so this was perfect. A hassle free dinner for later. I’ll add at this point that I did have to go to a supermarket on the way, to get cat food (the cat isn’t part of this little project, he needs to eat). It was strange, it felt alien. It hadn’t changed, but my way of thinking had. It felt sterile, generic, boring…but I have to mention that because this is Tooting, the staff in this supermarket are brilliant, friendly and chatty, so in that respect, I still got part of the shopping experience that I now crave.
When I got home, I didn’t even take my coat off before turning the oven on, and as it was Thursday, I treated myself to a cheeky Daura Damm which was in the fridge. The lasagne was HUGE, so I had one portion and my beer, watched a bit of Netflix and grabbed an early night. The laundry was done, the house was clean and the admin was almost finished. I do love a power Thursday!
The budget? Still at £13.54, I didn’t spend anything on food today, but I did buy a new toothbrush, form a local independent chemist. 😉
